Transformation from SAP® ECC 6 to SAP® S/4HANA and Cloud Integration in the field of eCommerce

The majority of SAP® users will switch sooner or later from the tried and tested SAP® ECC 6 to SAP® S/4HANA. For this transition, it is necessary to take a close look at the structural differences of both versions and to establish a standard that is as general as possible. This enables a migration with relatively little need for adaptation.

But what happens to the connected systems, such as the web shop, PIM or CRM systems? These must also be adjusted to the updated system conditions in order to continue to ensure error-free data exchange between the individual components.

These adjustments alone already result in the planification of a major migration project, since a large number of previously established processes have to be adapted to the new solution. Many companies also take the opportunity to move from an on premise solution to the cloud.

A very obvious solution for this task is the cloud-based integration platform from SAP®, SAP Cloud Integration (formerly CPI). As it maps connection scenarios between different system landscapes and therefore makes it possible to gradually convert the IT systems from on premise operation to the cloud.

PROCLANE Integration has been employing this additional technology for a long time and is experienced in the implementation of connections from ERP systems, especially from SAP® ECC 6 and SAP® S/4Hana to eCommerce solutions, such as Shopware and OXID eSales or marketplace modules.

In one of our current projects with a well-known wine merchant, the transfer of customer master data from SAP® to Shopware and the order transfer from Shopware to SAP® are mapped via SAP Cloud Integration, among other things.
